I saw this Cobone deal but never got around purchasing one. With my recent positive experiences with group buying sites in the Philippines, I decided to try it here in Dubai too. 

Several options to play such as Credit or Debit Cards, Paypal, Cash on Delivery, etc. Of course I chose PP.

I plan to bring my girlfriends so I bought 3 vouchers. I'll definitely blog about it once we used the voucher.

One thing I can complain is their referral system, I referred a friend but never got the supposed to be reward.

Aside from a 50% off, Barrio Fiesta is a trusted name. I don't think they will be in a bogus deal with any group buying site.

I've been hooked into group buying sites lately and I was shocked that there's a lot. Another one is cuponz but it's a turn off when these sites require sign ups first before you could see their deals. I do register when I purchase deals (it's a requirement), but I don't want to sign up to every single group buying sites because some were just ___ (fill in the blank type).

I was able to view their recent deals.

Did I register? Nah, there isn't much to see anyway.

I've been hearing good and bad experiences on Metrodeal, but I think it depends on their partner company and not the group buying site. But then again I might be wrong.

Pakyaw deals

Pakyaw means wholesale buying or hoarding.

I guess this site is fairly new as they have limited deals offered and most of their pages shows this pix (more deals coming soon!).

I was browsing and saw this deal for Guilly's Island Boracay and clicked the buy button.

After several attempts on payment (I guess because I registered a Philippines address and my CCs are billed here in Dubai), I finally was able to purchase 2 vouchers worth P3000 for only P1200! 

I used my Paypal account to pay with a registered CC (i don't have PP balance).

Now I have to do the reservations, they didn't specify that it's not valid on Holidays because we are on Boracay during Holy Week. I'm crossing my fingers not to have any problems on claiming the deal.

One of the group buying sites in the Philippines.

CashCashPinoy offers the most tempting deals (IMO) ranging from food and drinks, wellness and beauty, vacation and travel, liesure and lifestyle, fashion and clothing, etc.

How it works?

I said tempting because I really want to get these deals

Group Buying: Deal or No Deal?

I am aware of group buying sites but never really took much interest into it. That is until recently. I had couple of friends, one in Philippines and another here in Dubai whom shared good deals that they got through those sites.

So I registered in a few like Groupon and Cobone here in Dubai. I bought one Groupon voucher for an Indian restaurant, although the food was great I didn't like the initial discussion with the restaurant staff. He was insisting that the voucher worth 100 AED was to be consumed by one person. We were 3 pax and even a 4th person can still share with the food we later ordered. I couldn't blame Groupon for the not so good experience, maybe the restaurant staff was just ignorant of the deal itself (I convinced myself that's the case). Still that was my first and last experience as of date. 

But by next week, my friend got us another deal this time from Cobone and will be sharing our yatch experience later on.

Now I am checking deals offered in the Philippines for my coming vacation this April. Alas, I found a lot of sites offering various deals from food, travel, relaxation, stuffs, etc. I also read negative feedback on some.

So which is a good deal and a bad deal?
