Financially Smart in 2013

I vow to be financially smart in 2013 and beyond!

That means no excessive, impulsive or panic-buying modes. And guess what I already survived January without buying major things, mostly just groceries and toiletries. What is most difficult was January happens to be the month of my fave sale season which is the Dubai Shopping Festival!

How was I able to do it? It's not easy, but since I have this goal I know it will be worth it.

1. I avoid malls like a plague, I keep telling myself I don't need anything so instead of wasting my time I could do other things than malling.
2. I buy what I need, with a grocery list on hand. And some extra but not much like before.

I hope to adapt the system religiously and save as much as possible. I'm looking into different kinds of investments available and those that I can afford.

Kate Moss Lipstick Collection

I made a lot of purchases during the last days of DSF that I haven’t blogged about. This is one of those, these lipsticks are marked 25% off at Lifestyle, Reef Mall so I bought 3 for my mom and her 2 sisters (my aunts). I don’t know which color to choose so I just bought the ones suggested by the beauty consultant.

Shopping for Kids Clothes

My Godchild (inaanak) from my BFF will be celebrating her 3rd birthday on 11th of Feb, so I checked different stores for kids clothing. I usually buy clothes as a gift especially if it's for a girl, I enjoy dressing them up. And since I didn't approve of my BFF's choice of her daughter's dress last year (I was not alone), I told her I'll buy the dress this time.

Lady Bug from Mom&Me

I first saw the Hello Kitty dress from H&M, I liked it but it's so ordinary. And when I saw this Lady Bug dress from Mom&Me, I immediately decided on this one. I like the black and red combination (classic) and the petticoat underneath the skirt.

Oh, I bought this on the last day of Dubai Shopping Festival so I got a good discount.

My Sketchers Tone Ups

I finally decided on my new training shoes!

On my last post I was torn between a Sketchers Shape Ups or Reebok Easy Tone. My friend also wanted to buy Sketchers so we agreed on the brand. Now on the design, Shape Ups are more curvy on the sole which might be a problem when I do cardio work outs. I later on decided on this new Sketchers design which is called Tone Ups Run. It is perfect for running (treadmills) and other cardio work outs (elliptical, group exercise) since the sole is only slightly curved.

The comfort and support of RESALYTE
Ultra lightweight propriety midsole material utilizes memory retention for responsive shock absorption and dynamic rebound. It's the next step in running.

The limitless experience of Multi Flex
Deep grooves in the outsole allow freedom of forward and lateral barefoot movement. It's motion with infinite possibility.

Here's my Tone Ups

We got it on sale, still part of Dubai Shopping Festival.

Want to buy another one, panic buying?

Shopping for new shoes

In this case, toning shoes.

Since I am hitting the gym regularly and was almost injured last week, I decided to buy a new pair of training or toning shoes. I've been using a Puma casual shoes which I don't think is appropriate. I also have another Reebok trainers but I'm not really comfortable. So this time I will really have to go for comfort with toning benefits, not just because of the apperance and price.

I am torn between

Sketchers' Shape Up

or Reebook Easy Tone

Which should I buy? I need to avail the discounts offered during the Dubai Shopping Festival, it will end Feb 5 so I gotta hurry!
